Lys Sølaberg by Maison Crivelli is a Woody Floral Musk fragrance for women and men. Lys Sølaberg was launched in 2021. The nose behind this fragrance is Nathalie Feisthauer. Top notes are Quince, Carrot Seeds, Wine Lees and Bergamot; middle notes are Dried Fruits, Lily, Iris and Calamus; base notes are Smoke, Ambroxan, Oak, Cedar, Guaiac Wood, Tobacco, Mate, Labdanum, Oakmoss and Patchouli. "The lily that made the biggest impression on me was one that I came across after several hours spent walking through damp marshes strewn with tall grasses and scattered flowers. That day, as usual in the region, the weather was highly unpredictable. Gusts of wind carried back and forth the rain-charged clouds covering the valleys we were walking through. Then the sun appeared again as if by magic. Along the way, we caught sight of numerous waterfalls flowing down dark granite walls. Our final destination was a village on the cliff edge, facing the sea. We reached it around midnight. And yet, although it was the middle of summer, the sun still hadn’t set. In the distance, we could see rays of sun illuminating the waves, creating an iridescent shimmer. I remember taking shelter for a moment between two wooden houses with thatched roofs. And right there, at that very spot, I was surprised to see some lilies." Midnight sun, a delicious cascade. A fjord in flower, candied quince. Smoky iridescent lily. A verdant vault. A granite bridge, peat mantle. Casks of grilled oak. Lys Sølaberg opens on a luminous and slightly liqueur-like fruity note, provided by an accord of bergamot, wine lees and quince. The heart sees the smoky and spicy facets of the lily accentuated by a note of calamus. The luminous top note is reinforced by the iridescent, pearlescent facet of an iris-carrot seed duo. The latter envelops the flower with a fruity roundness, which itself is accentuated by a dried fruit accord. Ambroxan, which plays an important role in the formula, introduces a highly complex woody base. The smoky aspect of the lily is prolonged by guaiac wood, while the natural feel of the perfume is accentuated by oak moss absolute, patchouli, cedar, tobacco absolute and maté. Lastly, an amber accord, built around labdanum and an absolute of roasted oak shavings, reinforces the truly original character of the perfume. "Working on this fragrance, I was lucky enough to be given total freedom to express my interpretation of the memory Thibaud had shared. What struck me most, was this very original aesthetic vision of nature. I wanted to transcribe the remarkable beauty of the fjords, with the sun shimmering on the sea, the sweet smoky aspect of the lilies, the power of the wind, the mineral stone, and the darker, more humid aspect of the peat. I wanted to convey the idea of Mankind faced with rugged nature. And so there is a real duality in this creation. It opens with a beautiful pearlescent light to begin with, then evolves towards a note that evokes the power of the elements, which is almost telluric, and not at all fragile. The creation expresses itself and evolves in contrasts between the smoky, spicy lily facet, the radiant, slightly alcoholised quince, and a peaty/woody facet provided by the amber woods and an overdose of ambroxan, as well as an absolute of roasted oak shavings, which adds a remarkable, strong and incredibly sensual patina to the accord." - Nathalie Feisthauer.
