Projection

Projection is often confused with sillage, but it's more specific: it measures the radius at which others can detect your fragrance while you're standing still. Sillage is what you leave behind you when you walk; projection is what's around you when you're not moving. Strong projectors fill the room within minutes of application; weak projectors are skin-scents that require an in-for-a-kiss distance to read. Heavily-resinous and ambroxan-loaded compositions project hardest. Soft musks and dry-down skin notes project least.
