Concentration is a number on the label and a marketing tier, in roughly that order. The label tier (EDC < EDT < EDP < Parfum) is the bro-friendly headline, but it's an approximation. Some EDTs are heavier than other EDPs, depending on the materials. The most-honest way to compare two fragrances isn't by tier name — it's by the formula's reformulation history. A 2010 reformulation of an EDT can outperform a 2023 EDP of a different fragrance, because IFRA restrictions, ingredient sourcing, and the perfumer's hand all matter more than the tier letter on the label.
